Nancy developed an interest in weaving during college studies in Anthropology; soon her hand woven “samplers” became wall hangings. A second degree in interior design forged a foundation in color and texture with an emphasis on textiles. As her career in commercial interiors developed, so did her love of weaving; in 2004, a collection of mixed media pieces grew to include figurative pieces of human and animal form, jewelry, custom pillow covers, holiday stockings and ornaments; all with her hand woven fabric as the centerpiece.
Starting with the design of the piece, she designs the fabric, weaves the fabric, creates a pattern, then sews and embellishes each so that no two pieces are alike. She hopes the whimsical nature and combination of materials delights all as much as she is delighted in their creation.
